eitoeiko is proud to announce a group exhibition The moment at the moment by three artists from 12 February to 19 March.
Takahiro Nagasawa(b.1972) is the special prize winner of the 13th Taro Okamoto Prize by 'NPB pictorial' in 2008. Also he is known by the series 'I want to be praised' now we can see in monthly Japanese art magazine BT. He requests a signature and a comment from the person who is the model of the portrait. When he got the comment with being praised, the work will be complete.
Ryuhei Takada (unit.maker)(b.1976) took homeless man into GEISAI#11 as artwork in 2008, and won silver prize. He was accepted by a famous overseas judge, because in his work, the meaning of today and a firm will are admitted in the work. Takada is an artist who has thoughts like Maurizio Cattelan or Gianni Motti.
Yuki Hashimoto (b.1988) starts his career from ULTRA003 at SPIRAL in 2010. This young artist attempts to express a personality of human as a cellular. The eccentric evolution of cellular is called Galapagosnization in Japan. For him, this exhibition becomes a preview before Gateway Japan exhibition held in Torrance Art Museum in Los Angeles from 22 March to 30 April.
Feel the spirits of these artists to think where we are standing on today.

新宿や渋谷、下北沢の地下で轟音を響かせるライブハウスから、ラウドパークなどのスタジアム級のロックコンサートまで、ライブ会場を主戦場とするロック写真家・加藤仁史にとって、被写体を連続して撮影することは至高のワンピースを目指しての行為であって、動画として認識するものではない。
生命力の周期を表すバイオリズムは、「身体」「感情」「知性」の3つの波で解釈される。音楽を生き物ととらえたとき、一曲、あるいはコンサート全体としての生命の3つのバイオリズムの重なる頂点、彼のファインダーはその瞬間を狙っているのである。そしてその前後を見据えるのだ。たとえばシンバルを叩く直前、音の発生の瞬間、フォロースルーといったミュージシャンの細かな動きを、写真家は逃さず艶やかな光の中に収めていく。
「楽器を演奏するコツはリズムの裏拍を感じること。だから僕は裏拍でシャッターを押しているかもしれない」と語る加藤仁史。このたびは長年活動を記録し続けたロックバンド、ゆらゆら帝国の静と動の波間にゆれる音楽の鼓動を独自の視点で捉えた作品に、写真家の真骨頂をみせる。

立冬の候、皆様にはますますご健勝のこととお慶び申し上げます。このたびeitoeikoでは谷井隆太写真図録『えきすとら　ものみゆさん　ゆーとぴあ』の刊行を記念した展覧会「ぴーぷる」を開催いたします。
「都会の群衆を初めて見た時、人がいるというより、何か得体の知れぬ動く塊がそこにはあった」と語る作家のまなざしは、その塊との出会いと観察から出発して「個としての人間存在の復権」へと向かいます。 谷井は問題の提起におわらず、そこに回答を求めるべく日々悶絶苦闘しているのです。谷井は写真というメディアの特性をいかし、実社会の再構成を試みます。 そこには作家の親しむボッスやブリューゲル、プッサンからバルテュスに至るヨーロッパ絵画の影響が感じられます。まさにその点において、谷井作品は美術作品としての風格を獲得しています。
舞台は東京。極東の楽園に人間を復活させる挑戦は、この三部作に結晶します。皆様のご高覧をお待ちしております。

eitoeiko is pleased to announce the contemporary photograph exhibition People by Ryuta Tanii(b.1979). My first time to look at the crowd of the metropolis, there seemed to be one giant object moving. the artist told. After the encounter, he continues to observe it. Then he decides to divide the mass to each human. The reconstruction of the city scenes is for regaining the human right, Tanii thinks his work as that. Influenced by Western paintings like Bosch, Bruegel, Poussin, and the other classics, and Balthus, His photographs have their flavor of liberty which is lost in today. In the wonderland of the end of Asia, his renaissance of people connects the trilogy, Extra, Monomi-Yusan and Utopia. The exhibition shows the trilogy and the newest book of them.

In 2007, the exhibition of Takashi Murakami was held in LA MOCA. After that, what is happening in Los Angeles today? A collaboration with Durden and Ray Fine Art, the exhibit will be held at two galleries in Tokyo, eitoeiko and Gallery Lara Tokyo, Roppongi.

小学生の頃、授業で描いた絵を見た母親が、あまりの暗さに驚いて学校に電話してしまったことがあります。それはクラスメートと喧嘩した後に描いたものだったのですが、そのとき彼は、絵には心が投影され「嘘のつけない」ものであることを自覚します。
その経験から江川純太（1978年神奈川生まれ）は、コミュニケーションの手段としてではなく、自己との対話としての絵画を制作しています。
絵具はみずからを励ます力であり、目前に広がる未知の荒野に入り込むことのできる鍵なのです。わずかな記憶を頼りに置いた色の破片をキャンバスに伸ばすことにより構成した画面は、イメージの解体と再構築を目指し、豊かな空間となって広がります。
それは描き終えた一瞬の真実であり、翌日にはもう違う心の自分がいるかもしれません。しかしその偽らざる独白は、日々の暮らしの結晶と成り得るのです。
展覧会タイトルは安部公房の小説『人間そっくり』より。愛読する江川は、小説家とは対照的な内省的手法をもって「他者との通路」を開拓します。高度な情報化により逆説的にもたらされた虚ろな現代社会のなかで、江川純太の作品は夕暮れの蝉しぐれのように響き、心の空白を埋めていくでしょう。

eitoeiko is pleased to announce the exhibition 'Memoire Martienne' by Junta Egawa. Egawa makes a view in memories, which exists deeply in his mind. When a man stands on the most deepest place in his head, the sight would be where we have ever seen. In another word, with colours and shapes, the artist expresses a synchronicity of today. The truth of today will be a lie tomorrow, but the pile of momentary truth will be common sense. The series of abstruction paintings in Memoire Martiennes is a evidence of human who are alive. The exhibition is dedicated to the novelist Kobo Abe.

吉田有紀『芸術におけるL点の調査と研究』

吉田有紀は平面上に数個あるいは無数の球体、円形を描画し配置することにより出現する、色と影の世界を描いてきました。ほぼ15年にわたるこの作業の中で、作家はマルセル・デュシャンの語る「鑑賞者との共同作業」を行い、「なにものかはわからないがなにものかが見える」光景を創造しています。
吉田の作品は、見えざる何かを求めた、可視の世界のなかに不可視の領域をもちこんだ作品といえるでしょう。それは抽象画にも見えますが、同時に具体的な形象を持ち得る可能性を秘めた絵画なのです。近年は描いた円球の数に数字という「要素」を見出し、研究対象としました。 画面に無造作に数個の円球を描き、その個数を数えると、そこにはゼロから無限へとつづく数列の海から選ばれた、たったひとつの特定の数が存在するということの意味を作家は考えます。 このたびeitoeikoで発表する作品は、数という無機的な概念とは真逆ともいえる、有機体、すなわち生命についての立体作品を発表します。数と生命というふたつのテーマは、じつは作家の興味の根源でもある「もののかたちのはじまり」をとらえるための、二大要素ではないでしょうか。日本画と現代美術、平面と立体という概念を天体ととらえ、そのラグランジュポイントを考える展覧会。吉田有紀の新たな挑戦にご期待ください。

＊L点…ラグランジュポイントとよばれる、天文学においてふたつの物体が円軌道を描く際、それぞれの重力と遠心力をつりあいながら第3の物体が2体との位置を保つことのできる地点。

eitoeiko is pleased to announce the exhibition 'Point de Lagrange' by Yuki Yoshida, from 17 June to 18 July, 2010.
By drawing circles and spheres, Yuki Yoshida continued to express the colors and darkness of the world over 15 years. In his world, the viewer may find the shape which has ever seen. At this point, all his works are standing between the artist and the viewers like the works of Marcel Duchamp.
A lot of abstract painting he made for seeking the invisible, like counting the endless number. Yuki goes to the way to the impossible. Does that mean the seriousness of art? No, he looks for the most easiest way to express art, by using nothing but circles.
In this upcoming exhibition, the artist tries to make new series, the study about life. Yuki Yoshida will show the origin of life in art.
His painting is based in Japanese painting. At the same time, his thought is influenced by the western theory of contemporary art. The artist stands on lagrange point of art in the two.

白須純『ベレーザ・ウニヴェルサル』

このたびeitoeikoでは、ポルトガル大使館、社団法人日本ポルトガル協会の後援のもと、日本ポルトガル修好通商条約150周年記念行事の一環として、白須純個展『ベレーザ・ウニヴェルサル』を開催いたします。 1965年東村山市に生まれた白須純は、武蔵野美術大学を卒業後、ロンドン大学スレード美術学校に留学し版画の研究を重ねました。その後チェコのパラツキー大学で教鞭をとり、近年は母校で講師を務めるなど、後進の育成にも尽力しています。 白須純のポルトガルとの出会いはバルト・ドスサントス（1931-2008スレード美術学校名誉教授）にはじまり、1993年、国内における日本ポルトガル修好450年記念壁画（東京メトロ日本橋駅に設置）の共同制作に参加したことに足跡を残していますが、 その後1998年にはポルトガル・リスボン郊外のプラガール駅にて『東洋遍歴記』を共同制作、2004年からはオリエントファンデーションの奨学生として1年余りの滞在研究をするなど、深い関わりをもって今日に至ります。 2007年には同じくリスボン近郊のパルメラ駅に日本人では初めてとなる、個人による大作壁画を制作いたしました。 アズレージョと呼ばれる、500年以上の歴史を持つポルトガルの伝統的なタイル画は、目の覚めるような濃紺のブルーから、清流に反射する五月の空を思わせる淡い水色まで、自在な美的表現を永久的に封じ込めることを可能にしました。 多くは教会に見られる歴史や伝説の神聖な一場面から、民衆の心を癒すバーの片隅まで、アズレージョはポルトガルの心の美として浸透しています。白須はそこに日本画の構図の妙と諸国遍歴で磨いた独自の工夫を持ちこむことにより、今世紀のアズレージョを生み出しています。 本展ベレーザ・ウニヴェルサルでは、白須純は近年美術の世界で目立つことが少なくなった裸婦画についての考察をします。かつて聖なるものとして描かれた女性は、いまはどこに行ったのでしょうか。各国で首相となり政治の要人に起用され、女性の社会進出は益々勢い盛んですが、 改めて白須は尊敬をこめて現代の神聖を描きます。また日本ではヌードを墓地で撮影した写真家が訴えられるなど、芸術としての裸婦が封じ込められることに危機感を感じます。美の原点は、人類に共通のものでしょうか。それとも簡単にすげかえのきく、相対的で曖昧なものでしょうか。白須純の美をめぐる旅は、壮大なアズレージョの壁画となって結実します。

また会期中の5月16日(日)には、同画廊にて本間みち代氏によるチェンバロ・リサイタルを開催します。ポルトガルの作曲家カルロス・セイシャスとその周辺をめぐる18世紀の地中海バロック音楽を、白須純のアズレージョとともにお楽しみください。

eitoeiko is pleased to announce the exhibition 'Beleza Universal' by Jun Shirasu, from 17 April to 23 May, 2010.
Beleza Universal is a study of contemporary women. The project starts with a question, 'Is Miss Universe an universal designed woman?'. Today the status of women looks better than it used to be. But despite of the development of society, we lost something in history. That is a sacredness of women, the artist thinks. Jun Shirasu(b.1965) makes a contemporary goddess by azulejos. Beleza Universal is also a resurrection of the holiness of art.

青秀祐『PAX–4』

紙飛行機の飛行性能は、紙の大きさと重さ、そして紙の硬さによって決まる。
1機あたりのサイズは、縦540mm×横410mmとする。機体の主な素材は極薄の和紙。この和紙は軽く、かつ柔軟であるため、機体の軽量化と適度な剛性の保持に寄与する。折り目やガイドのマーキング、機体に施す各装飾はレイヤーの切り抜きと型押し、手製の和紙デカールで表現し、その厚みの差と微妙な凹凸が航空機としての構造的質感を演出するだろう。 広く表面を覆う鉛箔は機体に金属そのものの質感を与えるが、それにより増加した自重はレイヤーを部分的に肉抜きする事で軽減化を図る。折り方は、安定飛行に優れた「へそ型」を採用する。

PAX–4設計思想より　青秀介　2009年

春の足音が近づいてくるのが待ち遠しい季節です。世相も厳しいご時世ですが、eitoeikoは常に新しい芸術の光を生み出さんと努力してまいります。このたびeitoeikoでは、青秀祐個展『PAX-4』を開催いたします。 1981年生まれの青秀祐は、多摩美術大学で日本画を学びました。青は工業製品における芸術性について考察します。洗練の極に達した工業製品には、美しさが宿ります。それは見事な計算によって生み出された古代エジプトのピラミッド、産業革命をもたらした蒸気機関、生命体の中で活躍するナノテクノロジー・ロボットにいたるまで、歴史の中で繰り返された事実です。
最も美しい工業製品のひとつに、ジェット戦闘機があります。航空機産業の発展は戦争によって支えられました。青秀祐はパイロットの父の元で、ジェット戦闘機を身近に感じて育ちました。
作家は工業製品からその「美」を抽出する方法を考案します。展示会場全体に、設計段階から生産までの過程を再現することにより、作家はその製造工程において工業製品が纏う緊張感を再現し、途中経過における未然の美を創出するのです。そして完成した紙飛行機によるインスタレーションにより、実用としての機能美を示します。これは美の純粋性を芸術の領域に取り戻す試みとなるでしょう。

The architecture

The flight performance of the paper plane is decided according to the size, weight, and the hardness of paper.
The size is 540x410mm. Thin Japanese paper invents lightening the airframe and a moderate rigidity. In addition, it has a rich flexibility. The lines as a guide to fold and the decals of the marks are made by layered paper. With the difference of the thickness and a slight ruggedness, it looks as the actual structure of the jet plane. Also using the hand-made lead leaves, the body shines like metal. The amount that leaves had made heavy is lightened by partially pulling out the layer. The process for folding is called 'Navel type'. It promises the stability flight.

eitoeiko is pleased to announce PAX-4 by Shusuke Ao. Shusuke Ao(b.1981) thinks about the art which is in the industrial products.
Beauty stays in the product that improves the quality ultimately. From pyramid to nano-technology, history says it.
One of the most beautiful products is a jet plane. The development of the jet plane has advanced in the war. The artist was grown up with jet plane because his father was a pilot. The artist found the way to extract the beauty from the industrial products. Ao reveals it by the process to assemble the jet planes from the blueprint to the mass manufacture. This is an attempt to regain the purity of the beauty in the domain of art.

eitoeikoではグループ展『ノー・モア・オルタナティブ』を開催いたします。オルタナティブAlternativeとは、「代わりとなる《「新しい《という意味で使用され、実験精神に富んだものを指して呼称いたしますが、新しいものというのは、そもそもどこから生まれるのでしょうか。 eitoeikoは現代美術を視野に入れたギャラリーとして、古典芸術に対する考察を常に忘れません。時代を経て変遷する人類の美術の足跡は、常に過去の創造の肯定と否定を繰り返し、変化していったものと思います。美は進化することはなく、究極の価値観を持って存在し、その表象が時間という流れの中で変化し続けているのではないでしょうか。真に新しいものは、常に古いものから生まれてくるのです。 軽薄な流行にオルタナティブという言葉を使うならば、そんな言葉は必要ありません。本当のオルタナティブを探して、eitoeikoは芸術の旅を続けていきます。

1965年東京生まれの白須純は、武蔵野美術大学を卒業後、ロンドンのスレード美術学校に学びます。版画を研究した白須はまた同じ技法を発展させたストーン・エッチングに出会い、東京メトロ日本橋駅には彼が制作に加わった壁画が展示されています。 その共同作業の中で出会ったポルトガルの作家たちから、作家はまたポルトガルのタイル画に出会い、制作の幅を広げていきます。かの国の鉄道駅のひとつには、白須氏が全面を制作した巨大なタイル壁画があります。 ストーン・エッチングは白須純がかつて慣れ親しんだ表現として記憶に埋もれていきましたが、2009年、化石の混じった大理石に天啓を受け、制作を再開します。作家の刻む描線はあるときは古代ペルシアの文様をモチーフに、あるときは絶滅してしまったいにしえの動物を描きます。そこには古代を刻むという行為から新しいものが生まれるというパラドックスがあります。
いらはらみつみ（伊良原満美。1972年東京生まれ）の漆に対する考察もまた、興味深いものがあります。
立体作品「話題の種《は、新聞紙のテレビ欄という、ありふれた、しかしマスメディアが最も集約され、かつ瞬く間に消費されていく物質を、漆の力によって永遠に封じ込めるという魔法を施します。 アジア圏で広く伝統的に使用される漆は、その扱いにおいて日本が特に優れています。 物質に固着し強度を高め、保存していくという漆本来の能力に注目した作家は、時間を静止する、あるいは記録する媒体としての漆を効果的に用いています。これは古くも新しい、一種のメディア・アートではないでしょうか。また作家は情報消費社会に警鐘を鳴らすことなく、コミュニケーションの道具としてのマスメディアから「芽《が出ることを好意的に表わしています。 東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科漆芸専攻を修了し、在学中には安宅賞、サロン・ド・プランタン賞を受賞、2005年には国際漆展銀賞を受賞しています。
好評を博した『明月記』展におけるアレックス・ボール（1985年英国生まれ）の作品も、年内の期間ではありますが、ふたたび展示いたします。浮世絵に影響を受けた精密な描写表現とともに、美術書のサイズに厳格に準じたユニークなスタイルにも注目ください。 吊画の掲載された美術書は当然のことながら縮小された図版ですが、作家はその大きさを実寸ととらえ、自身の作品を生み出しています。吊画というのは書物の中に収められてもなお輝きを放ちますが、アレックスの作品は実寸でありながら縮小されたかのような、上思議なリアリティを醸しだすのです。セントラル・セントマーティン美術大学を卒業後、2008年にカトラン・アートプライズを受賞しています。
ボブ・シェイブ（1985年米国生まれ）の作品は、異文化との摩擦により生まれる創造、というものが人類の歴史であることを証明しているでしょう。eitoeikoが贈る、野心あふれる若き先鋭的な作家のひとりです。テンプル大学タイラー美術学校を卒業し、フィラデルフィアを拠点に制作、活動しています。
あわただしい時期ではありますが、美しく興味深い作品を愛で、越し方行く末に思いをはせるのは、いかがでしょうか。eitoeikoゆかりの作家たちによる魅惑の作品にも、ギャラリーで出会えるかもしれません。

No More Alternative, by Jun Shirasu, Mitsumi Irahara, Alex Ball, Bob Scheib, etc.

eitoeiko is pleased to introduce the group exhibition No More Alternative. The meaning of alternative, is taking the place, something new. It means as same as experimental. Where the NEW comes from? As a contemporary gallery, eitoeiko seeks it from classics. History of beauty is a repetition of affirmative and denial. It changes, but the ultimate beauty is always the same. Only the surface, the expression changes time after time. The new, the new beauty always comes from the past. If only the appearance of something we have not seen look interesting, we do not have to call it alternative. eitoeiko is looking for the real alternative, the beauty in the novel pieces.

Jun Shirasu(b.1965) uses the method of etching on marble. The fossil in the marble is a evidence of living things in ancient earth. The pattern that the artist carved, is influenced by lost civilization, like Persian, and the animals that Mr. Shirasu drawn have mostly exterminated. But the artist exactly invents the works. The paradox, making the ancient feels strange temptation to us. Jun Shirasu is also well known as a printer and as an artist of hand-painted tile works. One of the station in Portugal, he made a huge work on the wall.
Mitsumi Irahara(b.1972) expresses the time by urushi, Japanese lacquer. One of her work titled Seed of topics is made by newspaper, especially the TV program guide. The most easily consumed mass-production of information, her magic lacquer stops the movement eternally. Is it a kind of media art? Urushi is usually to use the maintenance of wooden dish plate, to keep it longer. Her discovery is that when we changed the point of view, the material shows the other meaning. And the work doesn't warn about the information society but the bud has been put out. She won Ataka Prize, 1998, Salon de Printemps Prize, 1999 and a silver prize of the Ishikawa international urushi exhibition in 2005.
eitoeiko exhibits the fine paintings of Alex Ball(b.1985, UK) again in answer to popular (only from 23 to 27 December).
In addition to Ukiyo-e influenced tone and composition, the size is strictly formed as like a book of art. In the art book of Hokusai, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, their works have been reduced to fit the sizes in the pages. Those small masterpieces are still brilliant. But the painting of Alex Ball, the actual size looks like the reduced image. The effect tells us what is real in the world. Alex Ball won the Catlin Art Prize in 2008.
Bob Scheib(b.1985, USA), his works prove the creation that arises by friction with the different culture to be a history of mankind. The body of his work is based in language and adventure. The large movement of human race is one of his research objects. Scheib is one of the emerging artist eitoeiko recommends with proud. After graduated Tyler School of Art in 2009, he lives and works in Philadelphia.
Also you might find the other fine works made by the other artists at eitoeiko. Hope not to say no more alternative. eitoeiko keeps on traveling for looking for the real alternative in the world.

私はNipporini。東京の下町、日暮里育ちである。
日本の民主主義は、敗戦をもって生まれた。私の両親は、大きな教育の転換に、どう順応していったのだろうか。 苦労があったのだろうし、案外すんなりと受け入れてきたのかもしれない。
私が写真学校で学んだ技術は、デジタルカメラの登場であっさりと上要なものとなった。 私は両親と同じ境遇を味わうことが、少しはできたと思う。暗室という防空壕を抜け出てみれば、世界は0と1でできていることになっていたのだ。 世の中には真実といわれてきたことが嘘になることがある。悲しいことかもしれないし、正しいことかもしれない。
フェリーニの愛と自由をもって世の中をみれば、いつわりの社会に悦びをみつけることもできるだろうか。
私はNipporini。東京の下町、日暮里育ちである。

秋も深まり、肌寒い毎日が続きます。皆様におかれましては、益々のご健康とご活躍を祈りつつ、ここに発表させていただきます。 eitoeikoは2009年11月21日から12月19日にかけて、ニッポリーニ　の新作『日暮里ガイドブック』の展覧会を開催いたします。
1963年生まれのニッポリーニは、商業写真家として美術品から宝石、建築、料理、人物、風景まであらゆるものをレンズにとらえ、 インターネット、建築雑誌、写真専門誌、広告媒体、TVCFなどに写真画像を紊める一方、デジタルカメラの技術に関する連載記事を執筆しています。 特にオールドレンズを使用したデジタルカメラの撮影に関する書籍は、これまでにない分野の監修者として業界から注目されています。
eitoeikoはニッポリーニと親交を深め、彼の中にいわゆる商業写真家の持ちえないピュアな魂と、技術に関する冷静な分析眼、歴史観、枠にとらわれない思考を発見しました。 そして芸術家の領域の仕事をする人間であることを再確認しました。

彼の作家としての出発は、海の写真を貼りこめて制作した翼長2メートルを超す飛行機が、嵐の空を離陸する姿を撮影したセンチメンタルな作品でした。
そして崇拝するオーガスタス・パブロの住むジャマイカのオールドタウンを訪れ撮影した作品、奄美大島を舞台に湿度を濃密な陰影で表現したシリーズ、 プラスチック製の簡易カメラに工夫を加え撮影した、人間の記憶のどこかに存在する原風景を表現した『Toy Camera Story』などを発表しています。 ニッポリーニは日暮里という、彼の生まれ育った東京の下町と、イタリアの映画監督フェデリコ・フェリーニから呼称したニックネームです。

『日暮里ガイドブック』は、デジタル写真と銀塩写真から成り立つ連作です。古き良き下町の街並みと、隣接する再開発された真新しい東京に、 作家はデジタルイメージとアナログ手法の両方を駆使して迫ります。デジタル写真では、ニッポリーニは劇的に流れる現代社会から失われた、 時間の残り香を伝えます。しかしそこには、作家の仕掛けた罠があります。風景の一部でもあり、被写体でもある男女は、過去と現在、 あるいは過去と未来といった隠喩なのでしょうか？いえ、ニッポリーニはモノクロームに限定した世界のなかで、フイルムの傷や塵といった、 見過ごされるものをさえ再構築し、過去や現在、未来といった時間は、すべてひとつの大きな流れの中でつながっているということを気付かせるのです。 銀塩写真に目を転じると、そこは日暮里という同じ空間でありながら全く異なる街の様相があらわれます。男女の距離は離れ、余白に消えていきます。 しかし芳醇なアナログ表現からは、フェリーニの慈愛をもって人間存在を眺めれば、たとえ未来が灰色の世界になっても、そこにはやはり「生《があふれている、 というささやかな希望の鐘が聞こえてくるのです。

For the visitors of Nippori
Welcome to Nippori! I am Nipporini. I was born and grown up in Nippori, downtown of Tokyo, Japan.
The democracy of Japan had the defeat and arose. How my parents adopted themselves to the conversion of ideology? It might be hard, and it is likely to have accepted unexpectedly easily.
The technique of prints that I had learnt at the photograph school easily became unnecessary because of the appearance of the digital camera. I think I tasted the same circumstances as parents a little. The world was made by 0 and 1 when I slipped out of my air-raid shelter of darkroom.
Having been said it is true might become a lie in the world. It might be a sad, and a correct.
If I had Fellini's eye of love and freedom, could I find pleasure in the society of the lie?
I am Nipporini. I was born and grown up in Nippori, downtown of Tokyo, Japan.

eitoeiko announces with honor to introduce the recent works of Nipporini, Nippori Guidebook, 21 November ? 19 December, 2009.
Nipporini(born in 1963) is working as a professional commercial photographer in long time and now. In his career, he took the pictures of paintings, sculptures, antiques, jewelries, architectures, delicious foods, portraits and landscapes. A lot of magazine of photograph and architecture, internet websites, advertisements published with his photos.
Also the image he took has been used as a material of TVCF. Nipporini has huge experience and knowledge of camera. He wrote a column of the techniques of digital camera in specialized magazines.
The book of how to use old lens with digital camera, he supervised is evaluated high among specialists.
After eitoeiko had a good relationship with Nipporini, we discovered the pure spirit, cool analysis about technical improvement, unique historical points of view, flexible thoughts in him. He was not only a photographer, but also an artist.

His career as an artist started with photo-sculpture in 1993. Nipporini made 2 meters length wing airplane. He covered the surface of the airplane with photographs of blue sea. Then he took a picture of the plane taking off in the storm. The romantic works got a prize. In the other works, He went to Jamaican old town to respecting reggae musicians he loves, such as Augustus Pablo. He made the series expressing Asian humidity by dense shade in Amami islands. His works of deja-vu in memories by self-customized toy camera were shown in museum in Japan.
Nipporini is a nickname named by Nippori, the town he was born and grew up, living and working in now and Italian cinema maestro Federico Fellini.
Nippori Guidebook is a series made by both of digital images and gelatin silver prints. Old beautiful town and reconstructed new buildings, there are close with each other in Nippori. Nipporini is exploring in the old and the newest Nippori with both of digital and analog techniques. In old town, seeking the scent remains, Nipporini tells us the time we lost. But there is a trick he made. What means that the struggling couple? The figures look like a portrait, but they look as same as a part of landscape. Is it a metaphor of the past and the current, or of the past and the future? The monochrome digital world, even the ablation and the dust he made, means that the past, the current and the future are all in the only one stream.
From the gelatin silver prints, the reconstructed town shows another side of Nippori. The couple separates, going to disappear in the margin. But the beautiful gelatin prints tells us that, if we see the human world with Fellini's love, then even the world in future goes to grey, our life will still be colorful with pleasure. Nipporini rings the bell of hope.

アレックス・ボール 高杉恵　日高進太郎『明月記』

来たる9月26日から10月31日に、eitoeikoはアレックス・ボール、高杉恵と日高進太郎による展覧会『明月記』を開催します。 20世紀に生まれ、21世紀に生きる若き三吊の作家が、「現代《を表現するために選んだのは、まったく古典的な表現技法でした。

物体から「意味《という表皮を剥ぎ取り、無造作に再構成していくアレックス・ボール（1985年英国ノーサンプトン生まれ）。 モチーフを象徴的にあらわしながらも、その真意をあきらかに指し示すことはありません。 しかし、本来の役割を拒否して、ありのままの姿をさらけ出すものたちが奏でる協奏曲が、21世紀を生きる者に与えられた寓話であり、 神話となり得ることを、その画面は語ります。現代アートの中心地となったロンドンが、形而上の理論に偏った、実体のない芸術となって久しいなか、 まっすぐに絵具と対話し、時間をかけて塗り重ねていくという画家本来の魂を感じさせるアーティストがまたしても英国から現れたのは、歴史の因縁でしょうか。 アレックス・ボールは2007年にセントラル・セントマーティン美術大学を卒業後、昨年はカトラン・アートプライズを受賞しています。

芸術の純粋性が、美術理論から成り立つことはありません。それは歴史の中に隠れているのです。高杉恵（1976年宮崎生まれ）は、人間の存在について考え、 個人と全人類の新しい調和を模索し、東西文化の融合、人間の集合体としての世界を提示します。 宮崎大学教育学部を卒業後、フランス・リールを中心とした7年半におよぶ留学と滞在制作が、彼女に思想を与えています。 芸術は死んだ、というパリの批評家が見落とした、総てのものに美が宿るという、美を発見する眼を、我々は忘れてはいけないのです。

日高進太郎（1984年宮崎生まれ）は現在、多摩美術大学大学院に在学し研究を続けています。作家の得意とする幻想的世界のほか、今回発表する、 銅版画という複製可能な技法を最大限に活かした現代の風景は、われわれの住む世界を原始的に、肉感的にあぶり出し、下水道の蓋や峠をわたる鉄塔に、 日常のなかで忘れかけていた「この道の向こうに何があるのか《といったロマンを思い出させてくれるでしょう。 プレビューを兼ねアートフェアに参加したソウルでは、その細密な画面を食い入るようにみつめる方々も多く、好評をいただきました。 昨年は第85回春陽展版画部門で入選を果たしています。

12世紀末から13世紀の鎌倉時代にかけて藤原定家が残した56年間にわたる日記『明月記』は、日々の記録としてではなく、 その後ひろく美しい書として愛され、現在は国宝となっています。展覧会タイトルの英訳はEver Bright Moonlight。若き三匹の狼が、吊月の季節に挑みます。
9月26日の15時から17時には、ささやかなオープニングパーティーをひらきます。また、10月30日の十三夜には、ジャズギターの吊手、 岩見淳三とボーカルのYAYOIによる、デュオコンサートを開催します。ライブチャージ2000円、19時からとなっています。こちらもご期待ください。

Ever Bright Moonlight, by Alex Ball, Megumi Takasugi, Shintaro Hidaka

eitoeiko is pleased to present the three artists group exhibition ‘Ever bright moonlight’ by Alex Ball, Megumi Takasugi and Shintaro Hidaka. Grown up in late 20th century and living in the 21st century, the three artists have to express‘contemporary’ in art.
Seeking the thoughts about beauty and aesthetical point of view, they find nothing from today. Making the artworks, they choose old traditional techniques, oil painting, sculpture and etching.
Using the objects which lost the original contexts, Alex Ball (born in 1985, Northampton, UK) creates an unusually relationship between them. The association reveals no clearly meanings. Hear the symphony we can barely hear, the small voices from the objects tell us the fables or the allegories. It becomes our new myth of the century.
Alex Ball lives and works in London.The time goes past that the capital of contemporary art is London, only the void of art remains on there, but the new real painter is reborn in the same country. It is the fate of the history. After BA Fine Art, Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London, 2007, Alex Ball got a winner of the Catlin Art Prize, 2008.

Purity of art, it consists not by recent theory of art. It is hidden in history. Megumi Takasugi (born in 1976, Miyazaki) expresses what is human. The world is a mass of human. Megumi reconstructs a harmony between individual and the whole human family. And she makes her works with both of eastern and western cultures. After BA Art Education, Miyazaki University, She got a grant by Miyazaki Pref. for oversea studying. More than seven years study in France it makes her thought more meditative. The art is dead, Parisian critics say, though everything is art in France and even in everywhere. The important is to find the art with mind, don’t miss the eye of thought.

Shintaro Hidaka(born in 1984, Miyazaki) is a postgraduate of Tama Art University. The flood of imagination makes the world chaotic, though it controlled to exquisiteness. Thousand stories told by characters in the distorted realistic world. Feel the genius of Shintaro Hidaka with the fine lines by etching. At the art fair in Seoul, his works got a good impression. Also his work were selected in the 85th Shun-yo ten exhibition of printing, 2008.

Ever Bright Moonlight, titled by Meigetsu-ki, written by Fujiwara no Sadaie(Teika) in 12-13c Kamakura periods, it was known with beautiful calligraphy. Additionally, on 30 October, the cerebration day of the moon 'jusan-ya', eitoeiko presents a special jazz live by guitar virtuoso Junzo Iwami and YAYOI on vocal, start 19:00, fee JPY2,000.
